I am in the same situation as you. I have decided to live with what I have and save for a REAL skimmer. I am leaning towards a Reef Octopus. Heck if you want a Coralife skimmer I can trade you. LOL The pump is shot. So you would need to replace it.

James, What is the difference when you left the cup out of the skimmer? Normally that is only about an inch.

Yes, that height is okay. Total height is 24" so this gives 2 inches to remove the cup. I checked their website and din't locate it.

Brian, I did see that one but max tank size is 100g. So I looked at the next size up. I will have to research more to ensure its not a old style. Thanks Anyone else like to clue me in?

Max height is 24". I need an inch or two to remove the cup. Right now with the skimmer I have I take off the cup and pump. Lay the skimmer horizontal above the 30g sump, connect the pump and stand it up vertical. Then I add the cup. The sump is stock 30g tank with baffles. Are ETSS skimmers any...

I agree; its horrible. The whole team was to blame not one person. Dropped catches from more than one person. Poor throws from QB. Not mention 1st play safety. Allowing the Giants to get 3rd down conversions on long yardage practically every time. The list goes on.....and I am a PATS fan! Big...

The SWC 180 might be a bit to tight in the cabinet. This really is my problem with getting a new skimmer that I can use an upgrade. I am aware of the sump water level. The area the skimmer will go in is about 9" of water. I may have to forgo the upgrade and just get a good skimmer and be happy...

I m running T5. It was on the top left and was ok for awhile and moved it to the bottom. Today I made room on top in center. So will see.

The first one was a little to tall. The second one would fit better. I have been reading that the Vertex skimmers are good also and little cheaper.

Nitrates are down to 10ppm. I tested today and glad I did. I was doing maintenance on the tank and unplugged the skimmer yesterday and forgot to turn it back on.
