Paul, yes it makes no sense at all. Except my wife reminded that the part of my arm that touched the light was wet. Not sure if that matters.
I have one more question. There is a opening where the legs would go on the light. Can I tie/wrap some type of wire on there and attach the other end to...
Phil, Thanks for the offer.
Paul, I will have to pick up a volt meter. I do not plan on using my body again for testing. :)
I can say I am only shocked when the same arm is in the water and touches the light. I can stick my hand in the tank and use my other to move the light with no problems.
Well, was sucking up some cyano with a turkey baster today. I had my hand in the tank, no shoes on just socks and my arm touched the outside of the light fixture and I got a small shock. At first thought nothing of it and did it again but this time hit my elbow. My was arm numb from the elbow to...
Just a quick update. With the 10ml a day I have noticed a bad cyano outbreak on one piece of LR next to my power head. The rock gas some brown star polyps on it.
Well, this is expected as it gets worse before getting better. I have not tested the nitrates yet, to busy injecting the turtle and...
I add Calcium, Alk and Mag twice a week. I add Strontium / Molybdenum once a week. PH is at 8.0 but is usually between 8.0 and 8.4.
My zoas are living longer and seem more open and brighter. My 5" green toadstool would only open once a month for maybe a day. It has now been open for a few weeks...
If all you have are softies than as stated before try peroxide dosing with manual removal. I believe the dosage of 1ml per 10g is correct. The HA should turn reddish and than white. Once white it is easy yo remove. Once it was red I was able to scrape it off the overflow easier and scrub rocks...
Happy Coral Inc has Pink Panther play's. I never ordered from them. Blue Zoo Aquatics has Pink Zoas.
What about yellow polyps for her? Cheap enough.
Edit: Pink Lemonade zoas are fairly cheap too.
If the hair algae is long the seahare will not touch it. You can try adding more Mg. Also, peroxide dosing will kill it but its a long process. If you have SPS don't bother with peroxide.
From what I read about peroxide dipping is to only submerge the rock the frag is on; not the frag itself. I believe you dip full strength as well.
You can dose your tank with peroxide too but I have learned it interacts with other chemicals in a negative way. Example: While dosing peroxide I...
