I agree with Paul and Darren. I use to keep my central at 68 to 70. After getting the tank my electric bill was a killer, especially when I had MH lights. I then started keeping the AC 75 but was still warm, my bill dropped about $60 a month. I installed ceiling fans and that made the rooms much...
That is a shame Ken. As another said the only way I know is to use needle nose pliers and work it out. I am assuming this fish is about 4" so getting that needle nose in their maybe a challenge. Good luck.
Phil,
Your clown is the smallest of the three and doesn't bother anyone. It just hangs out by a certain rock, comes out to eat and all three sleep together. the two larger ones are the bully.
I hear you. Will have to wait it out before I can do anything. Was thinking of a water change because I can't reach the fish. But don't want to mess up the mini cycle if that is what it going on.
I was thinking the spikes were from the dead fish. But now that you mention a cycle; in July I had hair algae and had to clean some of the rocks. Maybe the addition of new fish finally set off a small cycle.
It really is up to you and the maintenance you want to perform. I do agree with Mike that a 48" tank for a large Hippo is not a good idea. If you think you will be upgrading in a year or less you might get away with it for awhile. Mine was 6" in a 75g and it swam every where all day long. The...
It is a 75g tank. The YT and Angel were in for three weeks before this happened. The YT and PJ's were teh same size and Angel was smaller but the same size as the clowns. i didn't notice any outward signs of disease. Here are my params as of today.
Note the Nitrite and Nitrate tests are over a...
Sid, they were chasing the angel and yt around a few days ago, go figure. But now I am wondering if I caused this with my dosing. I was adding Alk and Ca directly to the DT to bring the levels up. I did pour them right in front of the power heads to ensure quick mixing in the water. Is it...
My 2 large PJ cardinals and 2 false percs have ganged up on my small yellow tang and small rusty angel. It started few days ago but didn't give it much thought as it was only during feeding. Now the YT and Angel are behind the rocks and appear to be deceased. To many rocks to move to check or...
Before you decide what to keep or not I would wait the 8 week cycle to ensure no ich and see what survives. Hopefully, all will make it but if not you may not have to make to much of a decision on what to keep or sell. I am sure people will be fair since you are putting all the effort in to the...
I have about 7oz left of decapsulated artemia in solution. Used them when my son had the dwarf seahorses. Good to feed corals or hatch for baby fish. Let me know what you have not looking for much.

That summer I was living in another town be of a house fire and was taking the train to Wall St. When school started I drove to the house being rebuilt so the kids could catch the bus for school and I walked to the highway to catch the bus for work. To think I walked right pass it that morning...
Sorry to see you go but if you have to do what is best for you and your family. I would think long and hard as others said. Ways to automate and make maintenance easie,. softies and fish or FOWLR. Wish you the best in what ever you decide.
I plan to send Animal Planet a nasty gram. Hopefully, if enough people send one they will pull the show. After all the money they are getting is ridiculous. The quarantine setup was $30k!!!
