in my opinion the items that cause the most heat in the tank are pumps. So list what powerheads/return pump etc you have. Also double check the heater (or disable it for the summer)

but to be fair - you are comparing a tunze product that is discontinued vs a product that is still manufactured/supported by ecotech.
That basically describes mine as well...i basically have now dedicated a tunze ph directed at an area to "wall off" / prevent the RBTA from moving and killing more...
Right i forgot - i use PE brand. Works fine for my fish although sometimes the little neon goby has like half a shrimp tail sticking out of it's mouth...lol.
I use a flat pack...break up the pack into smaller size chunks that I place into one of those plastic pharmacy daily pill cases. then every day I just open up a day and take out, thaw and toss in. I noticed the pack has more "whole" pieces of mysis vs the cubes - which tend to have more...
I have no idea what it is, but i had one that was stuck on a large asterea snail i had gotten via group buy. I didn't want to introduce something i couldn't identify so I pulled out a flat head screwdriver to ply the thing off. It reminded me of some parasite I've seen on Star trek...LOL.
gurgling overflow means the pump is too powerful for the overflow.
or it could mean you didn't put the air holes into the durso pipes...or the airholes are plugged up. or the airhole isn't large enough...or...
