so you're in the market for pumps? definitely check out either vortechs or tunzes. I'm a tunze fanatic myself, but then again I use a canon. HAHAAHA. (i know you use a nikon). Anyways most everyone i talk with love their vortechs also. I think the ONLY complaint I ever heard (minor quip)...
i wouldn't bother.
Why not take that money, spend it a 10 gallon tank, light, filtration and set up a QT. it's FAR more effective.
Think about it - the premise here is you want to PREVENT anything from getting into the display. A UV is all about what happens AFTER something is in the tank...
The skimmers are under-powered for that size tank. You can tread water for only so long before having to break the bank and get either a new skimmer, or find a better way to export nutrients.
Exporting nutrients means bigger water changes, or increased frequency on water changes. In...
So lucky! I wish I could go to a playoff atmosphere like game.
It would be amazing if the G-men can pull out another win away on the road against a quality team like GB.
tebow is something else. Of course if the jets had beaten the broncos (held that 4th qtr lead) then the broncos don't...
I don't think i have keyholes - i do have some type of limpet that came in via LR I bought long long ago. They are not in the display (yet) - but they are in my plumbing eating at the slime or whatever. I know because I find them in the skimmer eating at the sludge that accumulates in the...
The Giants game sounded like the place was rocking. Must have been a blast for you guys who went. It's amazing how the playoffs you can tell the intensity of the games are ratcheted up so much. Too bad the 1st qtr was so dull...unless you want to watch punters...hahaha.
Did anyone watch...
I found a post by "the" matt pedersen (the guy who wrote the 4000 word coral article) - he suggests:
Long term, you should be able to get them to eat flakes, pellets, frozen mixes, mysis, everything. And long term, that's what you should give 'em. EVERYTHING. Mysis is far better than Brine...
beautiful fish but sorry to hear the no-go on eating.
Did you try LIVE brine for now? Even possibly enriching live brine.
i would then switch over to enriched frozen brine.
is it in a tank alone? or are other fish outcompeting it for food?
i googled a recent article in coral mag about...
that stinks sunny. Hope everything works out.
i have a koralia nano pump for my bc29...dang i might have to look for an alternative. I'm hoping to start up the bc29 again. Shhh...a 120 and a bc29...oh the insanity.
I used two full gallons of tech M (a third gallon mostly used is by my tank) to combat bryopsis. Bryopsis was what caused me to buy a super long stainless steel "claw" tool to manually pull the stuff out. It was so disturbing and growing so fast and overtaking my LR and coral.
After a while...
A friend of mine had a miscalibrated refractometer and every time he changed the water, he diluted the tank. Basically it was a brackish water tank - (FO already) and killed half of the fish he had including the supposedly indestructible blue devil damsel (he had 3). Surprisingly the clownfish...
Brian's in plainsboro. Brian's the man who I brought my clownfish in a hd homer bucket! :) So technically speaking all those captive bred ones out there are because he purchased the pair. All i did was turn on the barry white music...LOL.
Cool avatar - is that the rest of the family?
