Hey guys - I signed a waiver for two pics I took at the NJRC frag swap. Supposedly they used them (unless it got edited) in the feb edition of TFH 2012. I checked out the digital version and it seems to be a section called "Aquarium Society News" on page 105.
Anyone have it? Shari H was...
off-topic - They have a display of terrapins over at the Atlantic City aquarium if my memory serves me right. They are neat looking - btw sandee are you using some salt in the water? i thought they preferred brackish. I believe they are not endangered but on the watch list due to massive...
I have a PM Kalk reactor that is tied inline with my ATO with dual check valves. Basically the ATO kicks on, fills the reactor with water and then the kalk effluent is deposited into the tank. I don't think my tank needs a lot - so I don't put a lot of kalk (a few heaping teaspoons), even...
6 pounds would probably last me 5 years. That's a lot of kalk.
Maybe my tank sps don't need much....lol.
Brightwalls Kalk +2 is what I purchased recently from the gb and been using.
so the kalk reactor will feed the tunze ATO container? I'm not following how the length the tunze is on impacts kalk dosage.
As evap occurs, the water level will drop triggering the tunze ato. the tunze pumps whatever water is in that container.
If your set up is some kind of float...
i was just thinking a lot of socks tend to be like 12" long or so. You'd have to really bend the thing to get it on that. I guess it's do-able but you'd make things easier if it didn't return so close to the bottom of the sump.
On my old 55 i had an ev120 with a mag7. The maintenance is very easy - just have to clear the air-injector (unscrew, rinse in water or use a Q-tip).
The best thing about this series is the compact size - if you have limited real estate they are great.
One thing i also like is the...
Deresas can grow rather large (only the gigas grows bigger) and should be on the sandbed. Putting it on a clam shell is a technique that is typically used for smaller species like maximas and croceas.
It's weight (as it grows) will keep it stablized on the sandbed. It is possible for deresas...
first of all - sorry for gang green. Woulda coulda shoulda i guess.
back on topic.
Make sure you water test/ensure no leaks on that sump.
Also the water flowing down - at that height into the sump you will not be able to employ a filter sock. Some people use em - others don't. Just...
I thought they were getting out of the retail business and selling "space" from fraggers? I recall reading something like this a while back - where they sectioned off portions of the store so that prolific fraggers could sell their frags in their store (in exchange for hosting these frags...
i purchased all of my valves from savko in ohio.
1.5" gate valves are $20.
I went with them based on a recommendation i got from a friend on another reefboard long ago. This is a pic of the stuff (i didn't need gate valves, i wanted tru-union ball valves) delivered to me...
i no longer subscribe but check their homepage to get the latest (sports) news. espn lost me long ago - i think some pop-up or something was the last straw.
Anyways - familiar with legrand - seen the coverage on Channel 12 (cable news) and on the star ledger and as i recall he led the scarlet...
