george - saw this on yahoo answers - and thought it will help now that you have decided on the canon t2i - to figure out lenses etc: "No matter what you want to do, I'd suggest getting the Canon 50mm f/1.8 II. This lens runs around $120, and is the best quality lens you can buy. It is fantastic...

    Her 20 (pics)

mine are laying again (still) - but rather than the back wall, they are laying on the back of some LR. I blame the new male - he doesn't realize how nice and smooth the back of the tank is. anyways the problem is that when they lay their eggs now I have no sight of them and no idea when they...

    Starting Bio-Pellets

Oh I hear ya totally - they should be on the bottom tumbling. I was just thinking initially I wouldn't mind if they weren't down there. Have you seen the octopus design - it's kinda weird with the tube all the way down to the bottom and connected to the top - which means everytime i have to top...

    Starting Bio-Pellets

floating actually may not be terrible for me since the reactor is designed with a long rod that goes to the bottom. I was thinking about it - if I add pellets to the bottom that rod will crush them and then get siphoned up. If they float then no worries. Rinsing them to get any crud off...

    Why won't my Calcium move!!!!

I see you mentioned the kalk reactor on standby...make sure you set up the kalk reactor correctly. Two people in the club already lost everything to a massive kalk overdose. I've never had a problem (knock on wood) but just saying. For me personally I don't dose anything except kalk/mag and...

Calibrating Refractometer...how do you do it?

I know! I was shocked. I think he did something wrong with the thing. As for mine -good question! I've been relying upon the 40 gallon bags per Reef Crystals. What I mean is that I have a 55 gallon bucket that is marked off for 40 gallons. I fill up to the line, and then add a full bag...

Calibrating Refractometer...how do you do it?

All - over the course of several months, a friend of mine has been diligently changing the water in his tank, except only last weekend (when i went over) did he realize his refractometer (from marine depot) was calibrated erroneously. I checked his salinity and it read 10ppm. But his...

    Almost averted disaster, I think

Wow a lot happened in a short period of time. So is the prizm skimmer still ok to use? Seems like the O-ring didn't move by itself right? or you think it was defective? Speaking of "almost"...I lost internet access last night and was thinking that was strange - and then shortly thereafter we...

A good friend of mine had at attend the funeral of an 18yr old (courtney) who died over the weekend in a car accident in PA. They were going out early in the morning to Buffalo, NY to fund-raise for pediatric cancer (it's an annual thing the kids at PSU do). I guess this post is just to...
