Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
there are no hard and fast rules in this hobby - (other than you have to use (NSW or ASW) saltwater...) ;D)
But keeping pelagic (tangs, anthias etc) fish in smaller sized tanks is just stacking the odds against you. It's possible to do for sure - it's just rare you ever see a nano tank of the...
HAHAH...i should have known better... ;)
I agree on the anemone first - but frankly if it wants to move- it could move tomorrow or move a month from now right? Certainly if you place it on an island (surrounded by sand) - that might help. I dunno. Mine decided to set up shop right next to my...
will it be BB?
I love the ledge.
I wish I had the patience. Back when i started Marco could not get any rock in and I didn't have the patience to wait! oh well.

Not sure if the above helps - but that's one german aquarist's experience.
Others suggest throwing out the infected coral. It sounds like it's on most of your LPS.
i've had baby clownfish go into the first chamber of the biocube. I ended up slowly coaxing it up and shooing it into the next chamber where the net was waiting.
Definitely consider getting the fishsaver - although that may not work if you do not have a cover on the tank.
+1.
Sorry to hear mark. I'm not sure hippos really do well in small tanks (55, 75, 90). Maybe for a few years - but you said yours is 6". That's pretty big for a 4 foot long tank.
do you still have four percs? how is that panning out? I have 3 (though one is the fry of the mom) and while there is no war - the third one is not allowed to sleep in the rbta with the other two at night. they tolerate the third one in the rbta SOMETIMES during the day.
Also - i noticed you...
i am with tanks on the asterinas...frankly i think they are ugly - so i try and remove them where i can. Now that my invert-hungry yellow coris wrasse is in fish heaven - i noticed my asterinas coming back more and more.
heheheh - totally off topic but yes it takes one to know one...
starcraft...
HA! Most of the fry were fine with the barring. I only had a few that had the second bar missing. One thing I do notice though is that the clowns are much richer in color/intensity than the ORA clowns I see for sale in the tanks. i dunno why that is - I am pretty sure i fed them the same food...
Hmmmm...when was the last time the probe was calibrated? I think shutting the calc reactor is a good idea below 8.1.
anyways - I am just speaking out loud here - for all we know I am totally off base on a wild goose chase.
You mention ph was 7.9 - according to holmes-farley, ph at about 7.7...
Shrug....
the past few years have shown to me that tunzes and mh/vho were all the rage for all the "tanks of the months". Lately it's ecotechs and leds.
For me- I will now happily seek out all the suckers selling their tunzes at 50% off. Moooohahhaha! (yay for me).
Gotta love the study given...
They are so beautiful. It'***** or miss with them as far i understand - but i think i read that the death rate is insanely high before they even make it to the LFS. So i would be more inclined to pick one up from someone else. no experience with them - i think it was mentioned to NOT expose this...
I kinda disagree here. I use kalk and water changes, and Mag supplement. That's it. My sps appears to be growing fine - albeit my tank is not nearly as sps heavy as say smcoolers. There is no need for additional 2 part if you are dosing kalk. In fact if kalk isn't enough, just add a fan to...
