That's the link for steveT. Great products. I posted also in inky's thread then saw this.
This is my bc29 - with the media basket:
mind you the flow is low because at the time I couldn't put more in without blowing the clowns too much.

SteveT is the man. I got the basket for the bc29. Works great.
Although I'm in the market for a skimmer now (maybe I can get one used - like a small tunze).
lighting is a possible challenge. It may not reach the bottom of the tank where you wanted to keep some corals/clams.
Circulation could be difficult since a standard long tank might be great for a powerhead, but if it's tall, that same powerhead will just blow straight into the otherside...
all of us could use bigger tanks...lol.
although a 55 "column" tank does present it's own unique challenges. Hopefully it's just some sand that got on the fish and not ich.
Good luck and keep us updated!
btw - i hope you didn't take my look up google as argumentative - i just meant it's...
long long ago dr. ron shimek called marine snow basically snake oil. However since it has been re-trademarked/branded by what is now known as brightwells - I don't know. i've decided that it's far better to observe the tank and see how the inhabitants respond than to assume that any one product...
i could be spreading bad info - but I never considered my actinics fueling algae growth. definitely i changed out the daylights after their "end of life" - but with actinics I usually kept them on longer.
congrats - was this one of those small hippos OGII had?
keep your eyes peeled for any white spots developing on the fish. The stress might reduce their immune system. Also the "Flashing" against the rocks might be a sign of a parasite/ich development.
They are really bright - but the only other "moon"light I have is from my tunze multicontroller. Alright I'll turn the lights off as my fish do seem a little unadjusted to the brighter light. It's too bad I can't shut down one of the two leds in progression. That's one feature I liked on the...
agree with ed and nick. It really does make the corals pop - I was amazed at the difference on these LEDS vs my old ones.
I have two strips over a 120. You could probably get away with one strip if you feel it's too bright. At 7w (I think) they are a really efficient light.
i didn't know uvl made pc bulbs.
yes the reason for one of each is that the PAR should be higher in the single bulb - and the blue should be bluer in the single bulb. Don't take my word for it though - get all 4 bulbs and try them out.
The only downside with this is if the blue is in the...
update on some good news - icecap incorrectly charged me for my reef illuminations fixture. I didn't make a big fuss and just sent a note to ask if there was a mistake. Laura/Chris fixed it right away and took care of it. I love it when dealing with top-notch companies like icecap. A+
Anyways -...
i forgot to say that i do not have a torch coral - but my hammer coral is a close relative. I do not feed that. Though lately I picked up some coral food and have been planning turkey basting some food at them. I think jersey wendy did this - hence my thoughts to switch over.
