i hate bryopsis. i have the same issue.
it is quite possible the decay of two starfish caused a nutrient spike. I had two sea cukes and I am pretty sure they are now just in "reef heaven".
btw - what kind of sea stars? bristle star/serpent stars are pretty good at hiding.
If they were true...
Case 1999 bioengineered corn where monarch butterflies were dying.
http://www.cnn.com/NATURE/9905/20/butterfly.killers/
The monarchs feed on milkweed plants, which thrive in "edge habitats" -- the areas where forested land and farm fields meet. Cornell's laboratory research suggests that...
maybe you need some barry white music. ;D
mine are due to hatch tonight...after i scoop them out i'm going to do a 25% water change. Long overdue for the tank. :P
believe it or not nothing special. They are getting cyclopeeze freeze dried wafers and some aqueon pellets I got for free at TFP's annual sale a while back. I read that pelletized forms of food tend to retain the nutrition more - so I purposely feed the female clown a "few" extra pellets before...
I moved the batch from the 10g over to the bc29. I removed the bc29 maxijet 1200 and replaced it with a maxijet 400 (100 gph). I also added some filter floss on the overflow to prevent accidental ingestion of a clown.
Here are some pics:
FTS...
do i hear party/bbq at point pleasant...there's an empty house for our meeting! ;D
the marlins/cardinals train in jupiter, fl....although regular season baseball is a week away.
aw lol - you REALLY have to close up on a new home so the big tank can get set up!!!! what - are there like 5 shrimp (2 pistols, 3 cleaner) in there now? ;D
impulse buy...lol yeah I don't do that for the display anymore....now i'm impulse buying for little 1/2 inch fish that look like...
all you have to do is watch the star wars trilogy. ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D The dark side - that's what clones are!!!! Just because you engineer a clone doesn't mean it won't morph or evolve into something else. The very act of placing that clone into the ocean may actually accelerate it's disintegration...
So the nerdy dude (alton brown?) on food channel in me is thinking you could take fresh garlic and dice it up in a food processor, then wrap the mess into nori (like your own mini-sushi roll) and use a mesh clip to hold it all together.
I dunno if that would work since the bits might just float...
yeah - its the "intank bc29 media basket". Filter floss on top, purigen/chemipure beneath. I guess I could add a bag of carbon too. It forces the water thru the basket to the bottom. Neat thing. The slot next to it is open for a refugium basket (with a 5w led light) or a saphire skimmer or tunze...
+1. We already have lionfish in the atlantic. Now we're going to bio-engineer more lionfish that some numbnut will release? People will then clamor for burmese pythons (also invasive in Florida) and what not. It's a slippery slope to go down.
If you are serious about helping then stop with the...
"just keep swimming" ;D
George - they are super cute but that's a drawback too because as I get attached to them - the losses can seem numbing. So I try not to treat them as little puppies and just consider them a 'number'. Otherwise losing a hundred puppies will drive me insane....
Here are...
