My humble opinion - people leave for different reasons - divorce, baby, marriage, people move. Some people are college students or hs students. Certainly when times were flush, there may be less - but in my opinion I just think we notice it more now.
I'm not looking to get out - but the biggest...
Really sorry to hear about the angels. Ich and stupid fish are remarkably common in our hobby ;D and I wouldn't take it too personally. I'm sure a trip to the LFS may convince you to try again in the future.
Finally - there is this minor solace - for all you know the angel was going to be food...

ouch...get a doc to prescribe some naproxin...(forget the spelling) - it's basically ibuprofin but at 5x the strength of anything over the counter... ;)
i won two subscriptions from the last frag swap...one to FAMA and another - I can't remember - I think it's AFI (or TFH). ::)
Yes - it's been that way for me - just so crazy at work that I don't have time to read anything (besides post padders!) :o
looking promising...i've been tinkering with the idea of replacing the small pumps with a manifold - similar to what ricwilli mentioned to me on my tale. T off the return pump and power up the phos reactor etc.
Just been too lazy to do plumbing... :P
i'd do the achilles and pair it with a power blue and add them both at the same time - last to the tank.
neon gobies are awful small in a 120. Don't get me wrong - I loved the little guy when I had it - it was servicing my firefish almost like a remora on a shark. Plus they are tank raised. But...
I had 3 hitch in on the LR I bought from a fellow njrc reefer.
First one was small on a portable piece of LR. Took it out and dropped a squirt of lemon juice. Watched it turn white and die.
Second one was larger and someone had migrated onto the one big piece of LR I cannot move. I ignored it...
A larger triggerfish or lionfish comes to mine - but I've never owned a grouper but I thought they will eat anything. Scientists had even suggested the grouper in the atlantic could be a potential predator for the invasive lionfish.
For future reference - a damsel or other fish is not needed to cycle a tank. Cycling involves building the bacteria needed to help break down harmful ammonia/nitrite. Rather than subject a fish to this treatment (and also the pain of trying to pull a territorial fish, it's easier to just use a...
Welcome! thank you for serving and helping others. Another 120 owner - and an extra tall at that! Does that make it slimmer front to back or just shorter from side to side? You have to start a tale of the tank. There are quite a few 120 threads that hopefully can give you insight on the pluses...
I'm not sure myself but a TDS of 0 is better than a TDS of 300. One thing to consider is that LR and sand that is reused could potentially leech things back into the water column (e.g. phosphates).
thanks guys!
I swear the tang has a vendetta against yellow-tail damsels.
He even swims side-ways underneath small rock formations to chase.
Anyways - the kole is starting to calm down and is even accepting pellets/cyclop wafers.
Though frozen mysis is loved beyond compare.
Knock on wood no...
I ran a slow flow sump and got the film all the time. I wouldn't sweat it. If you are doing regular water changes then just take a cup and skim the crud out. Isn't that what the sump's purpose is - to accumulate crud/detritus? hide equipment etc?
I would not place a maxi 1200 in there - as you...
Monthly update... ;D
sorry about the pic width - been a while since i posted pics. will figure it out.
Firefish Nemateleotris magnifica added: Dec 08 courtesy of Aquatic Obsessions - Free.
Just wanted to post a pic proving he lives in my open-top tank.
