what happened to the display?

oh if it's going to be under the tank - you should go with some type of macroalgae. Mangrove is basically a tree - like oak, pine etc, except it has the unique ability to have roots in brackish/salt water. I wouldn't do it if it's under a tank.

one of the most thorough posts I've seen... only thing i can think of is maybe the sand was a bad batch and has silica in it. You mention your cleanup crew...can you be more specific? What kind of cleaners do you have for the sand?

Personally I never used them because I hate hate hate washing things (heck I don't even do my own laundry...but that's because my wife thinks I'm the WORST folder in the history of mankind) (you guys should try that trick!). 3 for washer 3 for high pressure water...and just me who didn't use...

what's the long slender fish? That's a fish right in the second pic on the left? I must say the light is a little too blue for my taste.

if it's bleached i am not sure it matters - BUT I am not an expert on recovering anemones. If you notice it stretching a lot (like reaching up) then maybe you want to move it up. Where did you go to get the anemone? It's a little bit bad business practice for an LFS to sell you an anemone...
