I need new carpet, so I get a new tank?

That Pet Place's anniversary sale had perfecto 150gallons at $1 a gallon - but you have to get there EARLY. http://www.njreefers.org/joomla/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=9627.0 Or - support a LFS. I bought my 120 from AqOb during their annual sale. I think the owner is fantastic...

seems like a good plan to start with - I don't have exp with T5s but it sounds like as good a plan as any to start with.

My Yellow Tang is a Bully

You could re-arrange your aquascape and hope that the tang will re-adjust his/her territory. Generally speaking it's not always a "toss" up to introduce more than one tang in a tank. I know others (with big tanks) have them - but I believe the sequence of introduction was important for them...

Bristol worm. What should I do?

Olivier, More than likely you have a "bristle" worm from the family Eunicidae. When big these worms are not reef safe. When small (as described) they are just scavengers. The give-away for these worms is that they have five "antennae" on their head. ON the other hand - if you really had a...

    Live stock question

with the clown question - it's possible but it depends on what you mean by "pair". Pair as in - female/male mated. Or as in - no idea what sex they are pair of juveniles swimming around happily? If it's the latter - I don't see any problems. If they are both mated pairs - it could be an issue...

    stuck with lighting

watts per gallon should be used as a guide - not a be-all end-all. Consider that a longer tank (that is short in height) with a 4 inch DSB (or deeper) will need less light than a tall tank that is bare bottom. Or compare two identical sized tanks, one is BB and the other has a DSB - one could...

    Best Metal Halide bulb?

this thread earlier this week may help: Actinics Yes or No? That stated, your best bet is still to come to a meeting and check out someone's tank personally. Everyone has different tastes.

    stuck with lighting

depends on the corals and anemones... On one extreme, if you got a tank full of sun corals and a condy anemone - i'd say get a pair of VHO. Heck if the tank just had sun corals you could just use any normal fluroscent (obviously you'd target feed the sun corals). On the other hand - if your...

    Mating percs

agree with vincent and they prefer a flat surface to lay eggs on though. Great book to read if you are interested in breeding clowns is by Joyce Wilkerson called Clownfish.

Tunze or Vortech for 90g w/DSB

well that beats a tunze - you need a tunze wavebox (6212) to replicate that kind of wave action, and the 6212 is designed for larger (six foot) long tanks - not a 90 gallon. My only caution on what I saw on the vortech video link above was I did not see an overflow box, wondering how that...

    question about adding a sump/fuge.

if the display tank is larger than the fug (which for most of us is true) - it's unlikely the tank will "cycle" again. Then again - with smaller tanks - the margin of error becomes trickier. How big is the display again and how much LR and what other (if any) kind of filtration do you have?

Tunze or Vortech for 90g w/DSB

I can't speak to the vortechs - never owned one. Here are my opinions on the tunze streams (not nano). On the downside: They are bulky. / The holder is terrible. /They are pricey. On the plus-side: Service is top notch. / The flow and energy efficiency is superb. Some other factoids that...

Wow that is interesting - did they give you a scientific name for these crabs? I don't believe I've seen any horseshoe crab other than those king-sized ones on the east coast.

    Sand Question

These guys grow huge - really should not be kept in a reef tank in my humble opinion. What I do (similar to what Rich posted) is rather than turn the bag, I snip a small corner off and pour thru the hole. There tends to be a lot of suspended particles no matter how much you wash the sand...
