Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
nope. In essence you are breaking the life cycle of the parasite by leaving the tank "fish-less". The life cycle that we (the keepers) notice are when the little things are piercing the flesh of the fish and their white bodies appear against the fish...
Sometimes people report - "oh the white...
you'd have to leave the tank fallow - so you'd have to find someone with a QT to hold your fish...
otherwise i agree with matt. Why plan for disease when you could be planning to prevent it with a QT? Is it financial? The cost of QT is easily made up for compared with all the meds needed for a...
Technically they are just "pre-pubescent"....but I believe your order is correct...
so there's a big-dame female, smaller guy-male, and a bunch of small juveniles. If the dad dies - one of the juvies steps up to be the man. If the female dies, the male steps up to be female, and the juvie steps...
i recall kathainbowen raving about the place - though her thread's pics are gone.
Steve68's pics are still around - they are awesome:

feather worm. depending on where your LR came from - could be a species from the pacific or atlantic. Keep in mind if you like it and want to keep it - it is a filter feeder - doesn't matter what kind of light you give it - it wants phyto.

I have no experience with that type of ballast - in fact i'm looking to purchase some kind of MH set up in the future...
LOL - I noticed that too - but to be brutally honest - what it lacked in content -I thought it made up in the title alone "C the difference". At the very least it provides a great framework for the other teens on this board to piggy back off of and present at school...
Yes - should I bring him? :)

I don't get dosing something that doesn't naturally occur in the ocean.
Vitamin C is a big thing to us because we're the only creatures on this planet that cannot manufacture it. Us and Guinea Pigs (hence why so many cavies were used as lab animals for scurvy). Oh total off-course- if anyone...
nice.
Are you thinking of chaeto? or maybe something more exotic like mangroves? or a mix? Have you decided whether you will have a sandbed in the fug section or not?
Looks like a harmless feather duster/worm. Pops out of the LR right? Same Spot? If it moves around - it's something else....but hard to tell from the pics.
The YT Zebrasoma flavescens is a fantastic fish - but it is a big time eater and pooper. Good luck keeping it in that sized tank. Assuming you don't give it away, it will be good incentive for you to go get a big tank set up! ;)

Best not to use poison and load up on fire-based weapons. ;D
I was thinking that given all the bacteria and what not in a tank - if the fish's fins are being bitten/nipped at - then it could get infected, or potentially stress the fish out thereby causing a negative immune response...which promptly results in ich/velvet...
I would take the injured fish...
Jim -
I'm not up to speed on all the common names- but dendro - is that related to a sun coral Tubastrea aurea? It looks similar.
Also - in the foreground to the left - did you purchase that anemone or was it hitching on the frag? It looks like a "flower" anemone...but not sure.
