Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
From what I read from Calfo/Fenner - mangrove roots grow big (like you see on national geographic etc) because of the tidal changes. Without the tides, it just sprouts roots like any other plant you might frag and keep in a bottle. If you expose the roots to air every so often, eventually (again...
Step right up....
Up for free is a 55 gallon wood stand - I don't know colors (dark/white I get, but not anything in between). I guess it's a kinda dark-ish woody finish. LOL.
I got this for free from MAVL666 a while back. I also picked up a nice stand from NEWSALT. So I have two - and I don't...
unlikely to be the mangroves. How many (mangrove) pods do you have?
Do you have a DSB for the pods? I may attribute a reduction in trates to the DSB depending on how big it is.
Are you running a bigger skimmer?
If any tank needs a tale of the tank for everyone else to follow - it's this one...now let me go search! lol.
awesome tank - and don't be discouraged about the so-called "failure". In my opinion, the only failures are those who don't bother to try. You're doing just great!
this is an indication your tank is going thru a mini-cycle and the chemistry is a little out of whack.
Suggest a big water change and continued monitoring. Did you recently clean out some LR or did you have bio-balls that you washed? Or did you just have something big die in the tank?
A single MH (unlike T5 or T12) light is focused typically on a 24x24 space. So you can't assume that 2 400watts (800 watts) would be enough for a 210 gallon tank. You need to take into consideration the size of the tank -which for you is I presume 72".
So if you get 2 MH lamps - you're...
Not a starfish - serpent star or brittle star most likely. When we say starfish - I think linkia.
Before we jump to the conclusion that the brittle star jumped the fish - is it not possible that there was a problem with the 6line? Brittle stars are quick to jump on anything that shows signs of...
You just missed our Premium Aquatics Group Buy - which would have offered 15% off list plus free shipping. In order to participate you need to weigh the cost benefits behind joining the club and supporting our mission - or saving the money and just using it to pay for the goods. I think if you...
You don'tneed a sump to set up a QT. A Qt is a completely separate system - never connect it to the display.
Also - I'm unaware of some illness that happens to clownfish when they age...??
In terms of what we talked about earlier-copper in high concentrations will cause liver and kidney...
Personally I'd just stick with your existing tank and start thinking of buying an upgrade that is pre-drilled or comes with an internal overflow. Then migrate everything to the new tank and sell off the old one.
oh - and if it were me, I'd spend the money on a QT before a sump.
You probably already mentioned this on another thread - but can you post what kind of lights you are running? Also - what kind of camera you're using?
The old adage - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...and while I don't think I can imitate, I can at least know what you're using! ;)
Cuke-nukes are overstated/overblown...
Sea Cucumbers
Everyone talks about cukes as possible causes for tank wipe-outs like everyone talks about every single bristle worm as a coral eater. Just cannot generalize like that. Do you need a cuke? Nope. Personally I will be stocking my tank with at...
or you could wait until fall - when the 6105's come out and all the tunze fanatics dump their existing tunzes for the new ones. You know there are always the folks who want the latest and greatest...(you know who you are if you're reading!). ;)

Thanks Ralph. My daughter really enjoyed hanging out with your kids in the pool. She was very difficult to get out of the pool!!! Oh and your son followed us out to the car...! I sent him back when i told him all the brownies were on the table, not in my car anymore. ;)
It was nice catching up...
you should try and avoid any kind of meds if at all possible- copper included. I don't have studies of ornamental fish handy - but I was under the impression that elevated dosages of copper does cause issues to the fish. Let me go and refresh myself with some books from calfo and fenner...(be...
