the sand-sifting starfish is named as such because it is sifting sand for things to eat. Does your sand have anything in there (e.g. worms or pods yet?). If not - it might be useful to provide some morsels down there.
Some might even argue that the star-fish actually eats the very things that...
Actually - a friend of mine in NC had a problem with the lights/fans in the canopy and it caught fire. Needless to say not much survived...but thankfully he and his wife were not hurt.
So a flood doesn't sound that bad when I think about the electrical risk.
my wife and I loved it. Not sure if you noticed all those bearded "colonels"...(a la death star orientation).

with the right water parameters, it's highly unlikely that the limpets could do much damage to the c.algae. I'm pretty sure I have keyhole limpets...I had extracted most of them from my gulf-of-mexico rock but one large one eluded my capture and I believe (unfortunately) it was pregnant. I now...
Just another vote here that closed loops/powerheads should be used to help with the overall flow...relying solely on the sump return to do that is just going to be real noisy. =)

Fatherhood is the one job that you can get without the slightest degree of experience, knowledge or talent (despite what you may hear to the contrary on Father's Day). For that reason, when a friend had his first child recently, I quickly rattled off the...
N. wennerae is quite common in gulf of mexico live rock. I had caught 4 of them (2 reddish, 2 greenish) and gave them to the Brooklyn Aquarium Society back when I lived in NY. They are pretty small and are the hammer type mantis.
I suggest posting a request on the TBS forum in RC. (That's...

Update....sadly another shark has died. History will determine whether they should stop attempting to breed or the death of the two was a fluke.

Another whale shark died early Wednesday at the Georgia Aquarium, the second this year at the only facility outside Asia to...
I would keep feeding it.
I'm surprised that your maroons aren't viciously defending the anemone when you attempt to feed it...mine did. Then she'd promptly take the food from the tongs and bring it straight to the anemone.
