At Home Depot for 97 cents per can!
This is what I used to paint the back of my tank back in 2008.
If you actually want black glass, I almost have to believe it is a specialty item requiring individual manufacturing (and at a tremendous cost).
Now there’s a first…..KY jelly.
I believe KY is a carboxymethlycellulose (CMC) where it is a pinch of this CMC and the rest is all water (probably 97-98 percent water.) It is only a temporary lubricant for as long as the water is there. Once the water evaporates, no more lubricant...
What kind of lube? Petroleum based lubes cause the rubber to swell and eventually fail. Non petroleum lubes should only be used sparingly. If I use a lube on a bulkhead gasket, I put it on and then pretty much wipe off as much as I can. If there is too much lube, the gasket squeezes...
Let me further explain…the drain on the right side of the sump first enters a filter sock (that you cannot see in the photo above.) The purpose of the sock was to keep any “hard” things (like snails) blocking the skimmer pump. The left drain directly enters the refugium, and I’m sure...
I too have a 40B sump with the return in the center. But note that I have two drains feeding the sump in both corners of the sump.
As far as your 2 x 4 stand, here’s the build instructions for dimensional stands. For a four foot tank, all dimensional lumber can be 2 x 4’s.
I never understood those that soaked their rock in vinegar. The rock is calcium carbonate….the same stuff we clean off our powerheads and other equipment using vinegar. You put rock in vinegar and you are dissolving the rock. It will continue until you remove the rock or the acid is...
I ain’t good with English, but I’ve got to believe that “muse” is some sort of alcoholic beverage. It takes a little muse for me to dance too, and it’s usually interpreted as “white-man-dancing.” So have the muse chilled and ready to drink! Dance :very_drunk:
I’m pretty confident your corals will be sorry. These are so underpowered you’ll have to have everything within an inch of the water surface. Do a little research and you’ll find that, at a minimum, you will need 1 watt leds. The ones most of us are using are 3 watt. You say only $45...
I’m in a 40B with relatively high baffles and still have room for the back-flow from the DT:
When I turn off my pump, the water level fills the return section just to the level of the baffles.
You can easily calculate the volume of your backflow and the available space in your sump...
I originally installed siphon breaks (and they’re still there), but eventually installed a total of four loc-lines so my return flow wasn’t too great. This allowed me to raise the Loc-line so it was just at the surface of the water. Now I get no back-siphoning from my return lines. I only...
Jason, I was wondering what this change was. I noticed this about a month ago, what use to be only “IMG” code was now both “URL” and “IMG” together. For the most part I’ve been deleting the “URL” part off the code. Just make sure you erase all the nonsense at the front of the code and the...
