    New Ro/DI Unit

Joey, let’s take a little breather here and figure out what’s going on. What size membrane is it and what is the efficiency rating. I believe the most efficient are 75 gpd membranes at 98% ejection. Your 22out/87in is roughly 75% ejection.

    New Ro/DI Unit

If you wish to run DI only, I would highly recommend you look into a Kati-Ani system. It is basically the same thing as a DI unit, with the exception that the two exchange resins are already separated, making regeneration easy. Oh, and it's also a whole bunch bigger than a little DI unit...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

Wow! Was someone on the naughty list? Actually if you want to go the gas route, that’s some serious coin for a couple tack welds. You could go cheaper with a flux core MIG…… But the best (cleanest looking) weld for aluminum is TIG. So behave yourself and next year ask Santa for TIG...

anyone have a fish trap i can use to catch a hippo tang?

I’ve had great success with a bottle trap: Mine is a liter soda bottle, which I’m sure is too small for your Hippo. But you could try using a ½ gallon milk jug….that would work. Now here’s the secret……cut a hole in the trap (you can see the hole in my trap), and squirt in some tasty...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

My Apollos are exactly 13 inches from the surface of the water to the base of the fixture. You probably need to add another ¼ inch, since the LEDs are behind a piece of glass/plexi. As far as I know, I have no optics on my fixtures.

    Inherited 90

It just seems that I’m always working on the penultimate design…..just don’t’ seem to be able to get to the final one…..there’s always something to improve. With my cracked lid on the cooler-style fresh water reservoir (post 184 above), the ½ inch acrylic just sat on top of the lid. So I...

The meeting link also needs to be on the Home page, but instead it says, "Looking for 2013 Meeting Hosts."

    Heater recommendation > 11" long

My favorite heaters are Jagers, but they are long. I didn't look up 150's, but I'd guess they are too long. My second choice would be Sera. Don't know the length on these either. Good luck. EDIT TO ADD: Just looked up the Sera 150’s….they are 11.8 inches long. How about three...

Reefkeeper 2 or Lite - Sayreville

Actually I've found a DIY to replace the display in the RK-2. I know that's a problem with these, the display eventually dims to the point you can no longer see it. I know, because it happened to one of mine, and I had to send it back to DA. Well DA is no longer doing this fix. So here's...

    ID Help please

I agree….I’m seeing a bunch of blurry spots, and I haven’t even started drinking tonight. :p I would not guess anemone because Edwin said he’s “carrying,” which in my feeble mind says it’s moving. I’m going to guess, blurry sight unseen, a stomatella…and they’re safe.

Reefkeeper 2 or Lite - Sayreville

WTB Reefkeeper 2 or Lite Looking for the old style Reefkeeper 2 (preferred), or Reefkeeper Lite. The kid dumped another tank on me and I’d like to control the temp and lights with minimal costs. Thanks for looking. Paul

Picking up the pieces... and moving forward!

Looking at dimensions and specifications, I think he's talking about THESE GUYS. And to answer njhc's question; I would think with a 24 white to 8 blue, that that would be a very "white" look.

    No Name Powerhead

Oh Jim, I’m trying to hold back…..I’m trying….I’m…..Oh crap! There is voltage and there is current. And then there are those who think grounding probes are a good thing. :p Voltage is like having a battery sitting in your junk draw in your kitchen. It just sits...

    Dip

Edwin, if you’re doing a couple hundred frags, that 2.5 gallon tank will come in handy. I use the same coleslaw container I used for Revive for the one, two or so frags I need to dip: Zippy, I agree, not good for bees. But I don’t use any insecticides outside (none!) and I haven’t...

    No Name Powerhead

There is a solid column of water in your return line....unless you've got something unconventional. That solid column is the path current will take between your DT and sump. I'm also biting my tongue on my opinion about voltage and current and grounding probes. I've stated my opinion too...

    Dip

This stuff is safe for corals….haven’t had any losses from dipping. HERE’s the original video that got me hooked. The guy in the video diluted 8 mls per liter, and I simply rounded it to 1 ml per 100 mils. This stuff is a nicotine based insecticide that works as a neurotoxin. It’s a...
