Dave, put them in your sump. I think you have a sump similar to the one I have....a 40 breeder. My sump actually has a clown in it as well. The door to my stand is actually cut out to expose this section of the sump:

One more thing....if it is flex PVC, you could cut the pipe at that location and install a coupling using pvc cleaner/cement. That would "fix" the torn area.

Are you talking PVC flex? Or some other kind of flexible pipe/hose? If it is PVC flex, I'd be shocked if it had a tear....that stuff is pretty tough! If it's just some other kind of flexible hose, HD carries all different sizes.
