There might be a very very slow drip, if you don't glue. Long power outage, that slow drip might drain the overflow box. In your setup, not a lot of water in the overflow box, so no need to glue. I am talking about the connection inside the overflow box. I have never glued, giving me the option...

I run a gh overflow on my 80 breeder. The nano version. If you dont run a lot of flow it’s quiet. I think it will be fine on a 40 breeder. The pump I use is about 300gph but the actual flow is probably half of that. Gh is cheaper and easier to plumb.

When I redid my windows I saved some old screens. These frames are perfect to make screen top from. Just like the stuff from HD. Free but you will still need to purchase the screens from BRS.
