So, without having to pull out the entire skimmer, what I do is add a lil tank water to the cup and turkey-baste out the funky stuff

I use one of those long stick scrubbers for the bowfront glass Top Fin® Aquarium Scrubber & Scraper Combo It doesn't go all the way but it does make it easier

Guys Any diy tips on how to mount one of these on the side on my stand? I was thinking of busting out the dremel and making a notch but I want to know about any other suggestions. Its going to be mounted on RS 130d stand

Note that I had to pull the filter sock but what I did was wrap filter floss in a mesh, zip tied it and just stuffed it into the chamber

is it the mini one? i have the mini and im running the same set up. I have the carbon on the bottom and had (no longer using) gfo on the top. in the past i was using that Rox 8 carbon and had issues with the fine sediments clogging up my lines i have now switched to plain marineland carbon
