I was in AO yesterday to buy a fish.
Lately, I've been poking around the stores, looking to see what I could put in my tank, but I'd been deeply dissapointed by the state of the stores in NJ, and also by the low level of customer service I'd been getting.
But yesterday, I made it into AO right...
Last time I was in Allquatics was months ago. Maybe 6 of them. The store was really nice. Tons of coral, tons of inverts, tons of fish.
I went into the store about 2 days ago, needing some snails and crabs, looked around for about 5 minutes and walked out.
The store looks like it's on its...
I've a basement that needs waterproofing and concrete and was wondering if anyone had had any good luck with any particular contractor for such.
I live in central, NJ, if that makes any difference.
Thanks!

Hi All,
This is Damon's wife. He's been away on business, and is due to arrive home in 5 hours. Sometime between yesterday and today his anemone died, it's just a skeleton. I have NO knowledge of his hobby, but I do know that a dead creature in the tank could be bad news. What should I do...
As you may or may not know, my BTA split several weeks ago.
The new lil guy was content to stick around the other BTA, but apparently decided to move today.
I came home today to cloudy water and thought, 'uh oh...that can't be good.'
Upon closer inspection, there were lil pieces of...
Hey guys/gals,
After much thought, my wife decided to quit her job and start her own business. It'll be a small business, mainly for graphic design/marketting for small businesses. Catalogs, fliers, advertising, etc...
Anyway, I know nothing about her responsibilities, as far as taxation and...
So, this weekend I decided to try setting up an external closed-loop system on my 29g reef.
Objectives:
* Get Powerheads out of tank to alleviate noise/heat
* Incorperate the SCWD mavemaker into the system.
* Keep whole system ~$100
So, I headed to the not-so-local superstore around...

Fill out the quick info and they email you the coupon immediately.
I signed up 4 times w/ 4 email accounts, and then I printed 2 of each because, even though there's a bar code, Home Depot takes all competitor's coupons.
Sweet!
I revel in hardware...
Hey guys,
Have a 20k 175w bulb on my tank. Blue, I guess, is in the eye of the beholder.
I'd like to add an actinic bulb on the tank, maybe 2 lil guys, for a little...pop.
Just wondering if anyone know's of an inexpensive way to do so?
I've been looking around at t5s and PC and even small...
Man.
I was looking at my tank after work yesterday, and everything looked great.
I come back in the room about 20 minutes later and everything looks great, but somethings missing.
Finally I realize my flame back is nowhere to be seen...and he's not bashful.
So, I keep looking, and I think my...
Outside of some orange digi and a hydnophora, these are my first real frags of SPS.
I don't really know what to look for for good health, so i figured I'd post a picture and see what people said.
The tips on one are purple, and that wasn't there when I put it in, so I assume new growth (good)...
I'm getting ready to rip up the old floor in a 700 Sq Ft. basement, and I'd like to do radiant heat when we pour the new floor.
Anyone have any experience with such?
I'll be plumbing it in as a new zone on our oil-burning hot water boiler system.
Thanks!

I got this coral a LONG time ago (for me 6-7 months is a long time) and it was under all sorts of bulbs (and more often than not, knocked around by my old turbo snails), but when i changed to 20k on the metal halide the other day, she started to look like this EVERY day.
I've also been keeping...
Hey guys,
I was looking over my tank last night...like I do every night ;) and I noticed that there's a thin layer of detritus on top of the sand in my fuge.
My fuge is an aquafuge by CPR. It's about 5 inches thick, 14 long and 9 high, and I have a few pieces of rubble, a 1/2 inch of sand and...
