Hi All,
This is Damon's wife. He's been away on business, and is due to arrive home in 5 hours. Sometime between yesterday and today his anemone died, it's just a skeleton. I have NO knowledge of his hobby, but I do know that a dead creature in the tank could be bad news. What should I do...
My clowns were pretty happy in their frogspawn when i first got my BTA. I used my hand to chase them towards the bta and after about 15 minutes they dived right in.
Maybe not the most humane way, but it worked. ;)
Another by the same character: "Well, crying isn't gonna bring him back ... unless your tears smell like dog food. So you can either sit there crying and eating can after can of dog food until your tears smell enough like dog food to make your dog come back or you can go out there and find your...
Man...I knew it was something like that. That's always my problem...heading in the wrong direction. If only I didn't already pay that drummer to help me march to my own beat. :(
Ha. Ok, the how many fish can you spot post from october got messed up somehow when i edited my photo album. it was a full size picture of the tank, but you couldn't really see the scooter without looking very hard. There were 6 fish, now 5. 2 clowns, 2 chromies, scooter. ;)
I like how I post a...

Oh, I'm familiar with that...just haven't heard of it with xenia. It's practically a seaweed. ;)

Why would the xenia be negatively effecting the rest of the tank? Xenia seems pretty harmless to me, especially when isolated like you have it, and can even be very useful for nutrient export.
Just curious as to...
I have it on the back of my 29g mixed reef. The only other filtration I use is LR and some hamiledia in the display. Xenia, I guess could be considered part of my filter, too...but no skimmers, sump, etc...
I use a CPR Aquafuge...the one w/o the skimmer. I really like it. It's full of chaeto, has room to stick a bag of carbon in highflow area and room for my heater as well. And it sucks water into the fuge and the water flows back into the tank, which i think is better for the pod population.
My...
Hey man, congrats on the baby!
Mine did that a few weeks ago. Then, a few days ago, the lil clone decided to try its luck freefloating in the tank. That didn't work out too well for it, honestly.
Honestly, I wish I would have bought a little stronger of a pump and then i could have throttled it back if necessary. For some reason I just like a lot of flow. ;)
Anyway, I got the Iwaki 20RLXT It says ~880 @ 0 head.
Actually, I just got a better pump and the scwd is working great. Corals seem happy, flow seems adequate, etc...
Just took a little time and rebuilding...and multiple trips to PA to the store. ;)
Hey guys, thanks a bunch for the replies/advice.
Some of the things you mention seem a little extreme. I'm not quitting my job, and she's not hiring employees. I can cope with the fact it's probably not going to show profit for years (if ever), but I've never even considered the possibility of...
