Not sure if this helps, but what I have used and like alot is Purigen by seachem, better than carbon(doesnt lower ph) and you can renew it with bleach, then rinse with water and let it sit in some prime for 24 hrs.Gets the water crystal clear.. hope this helped
I have ordered from them a few times. On the smaller side and a lil pricey IMO but the corals came in packed well and they all lived,as a matter of fact I still have the tiny rocks of bam bams I got 2yrs ago,now encrusting to ther areas..gd luck on trying them
Wow,kinda sad to hear this, when I was a kid and first got in the hobby they were the store to go to.This was 27 yrs ago..I guess nothing stays the same forever.Maybe talking with the owner may help,if they care about their customers maybe they will take heed and make changes.
Ok this may sound like a silly question,Im thinking on upgrading to a 150 gal tank, and I was wondering with this size tank will I have to do any re inforcing of the floor joists,it will be on the first floor and will of course be a reef tank.I currently have a 90 and it has been ok for the last...
Im thinking on upgrading my 90 to a 150 gal,my question/worry is will the floor hold the weight,no basement, its a crawl space, and what size pump should I use for this size tank..any info would help,if I do this I will be getting the tank this weekend. :D
I agree with Phyl,if you "lock" the rocks in place without any glue when comes the time to rearrange the rockwork,or have a need to move some rocks you have the freedom to do so.In the past I have been able to do some amazing ledges, arches etc locking them in place, good luck and keep the pics...
gd luck with the new setup,I too have a 90...if it goes the same for you as it did me,you'll run out of room in no time..lol keep the pics coming,I will follow this post, happy reefing :)
Im not sure how much this helps, but I found that a tile saw works really well on cutting plexiglass,it doesnt "melt" the plexiglass...let me know if this works for you..
I have a 90 and 20 long sump too,I started off with a mag 5,then went to a mag 9 and Im still thinking on going up to a mag 12..just food for thght..hope this helps keep everyone posted..gd luck, happy reefing
I was just reading this post and thght I might over an idea for that rust, its called naval jelly, pink jelly like stuff that takes rust away like magic,I've used it many times on anything and everything, including tank stuff.I hope this helps you gd luck
I received the order this past week, the owner of CP delivered it himself,a "drop and run type of delivery" when I opened the box,the chocolate tang was DOA,the powder blue died 4 min later, one of the leathers(unrecognizable)looked kinda like soggy frosted flakes,no leopard wrasse, and I also...
"raises hand" I have 2 chips in my tank (90gal reef) one on each side..had it set up for 5yrs..the chips arent deep, and not even half way thru the glass, kinda like having a boat with a small hole,if the water comes or goes,be ready to swim..lol gd luck if you do decide to get it.
