I'm a Halmidea fan myself, and I generally have some available. It will increase your calcium consumption a bit, but I like the look and it's fairly easy to control.

The cockatiel is hand trained, but can be a little nippy if you aren't confident handling him. I can clip the wings if anyone would like! (I'm not commenting on how wives are playing a role on both sides of this potential adoption!)

We are his second family, so I'm not sure. Probably about 9 or 10. He is not hand trained, but I think he could be.

What Carlo said! ;D Basically FOWLR=yes, go skimmerless REEF= no, add a skimmer. But I would guess your focus is fish. If you trade rock for swimming room you need to step up the maintainence and water change schedules.
