Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So, as I sit here waiting for my RODI for a water change, drinking quality bourbon (Knob Creek Small Batch) out of a small plastic cup (which I had in hand as I was doing fish stuff), I decided to share my holiday decor.
I hate holiday decor. I love the season. I hate the work.
So! Being an...
I can see that. As the screws are the only exposed piece they could have gone brass for a few cents more. It really wouldn't have been that much of a difference in manufacturing cost.
So, I've had a few acrylic holders that never really did me any good as they had to be mounted with screws for the most part and many never fit on my tank (or rim) properly.
Recently added a Vertex Holder to an order from a retailer. It cost me $20 which I thought was a bit for a 3 line holder...
Been about 7 weeks, things are settling in. Dropping a few pics...
For the most part, all going well with the exception of some of the SPS. I'm guessing I may be bleaching the out with the new lighting, so going to play about with that over the next few weeks.
I was running a shallow 60 with low rock work and the gyre did a pretty good job. When I moved to a 90 with higher rockwork it moved water but I had a number of dead spots with singular flow away from the gyre in the top of the tank and towards the gyre lower. In the end I placed the gyre high...

Cap container, run rigid airline into it (through...
OK, so, this is my rough guide on phytoplankton. Most of it is coming direct from brain to keyboard, checking some references as I go to ensure my memory is correct and I wasn’t delusional at the time, which is rare. Use at own risk. References and a number of great links provided at end.
What...
Mike, no worries, I can drop a bottle off any time.
Joe and Paul...
I'll run a post very soon, tomorrow if I can, on the phyto farm setup including startup materials, cultures, feeding, and propagating to larger containers.
