I warn against doing it to Jawbreakers. have chopped anemone and many different mushrooms in half and rarely lose any. BUT did it 2x with Jawbreakers and BOTH times all 4 halves melted away. Not sure why?

Nitrates of 40? Wow. I scooped a 1/2 teaspoon of reefroids and only went to 10-20. Sure mine were 0 before I dosed the 25ml NeoNitro.

Exactly my thinking. I tried feeding more and nitrates andnphospahtes were low. I started reef roids 3+ times a week, but while it raised my Nitrates to 20, my phosphates were 5.0 too. So couldn't keep doing that. So ordered NeoNitro. But just using red sea/api tests so very vague reads. But...

I have been bare bottom since last November. Seems to have assisted me in maintaining a better overall tank with less maintenance. I like the look of sand though. Maybe if you can use the larger gravel type sand, so flow isnt an issue.

Liked the 24KT Lepto in person even more.

Once you start dosing larger quantities of soda ash and calcium chloride, you may want to consider an auto doser so you can does 4x a day, 10x a day to keep those numbers even more stable/consistent. cant offer any more good info besides that, because I am where you are at...lol
