Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Nice meeting you guys. Thank you for the tangs and urchins.
Sadly, the Sailfin didn't survive. when I got home it wasn't breathing so I put it in bucket with an airstone for an hour but never revived and turned black.
Here is pic of the light on the tank. Only thing is the vent/fan are on the sides so placed it on top for now. Barely fits and need to extend the ledge to make it secure or figure something else out. Yes, I have the legs but wife likes the canopy look so need to keep it.
Just picked up the fixture. Guy said that original unit had a bad led light and since under warranty requested a new unit. Also, said was purchased at Trop which is nice to know since they are sponsor and well recognized.
All I have is the guys word. No way to be sure if it was repaired or not.
How would a repair differ from buying a used fixture? Maybe no problems with original owner but you buy it and have problems.
I just spoke to the guy and here is what is going on.
He bought the fixture in April and had a problem with the led lights.
Brought it back to the store and they replaced the fixture. No box and never been used. Not sure if I can register for the warranty.
James, what I was thinking. It has one plug and built-in timer which is nice but is that good or bad. I read reviews on the 24" fixture on thereefforum and they were good. Just no info on the 48".
Anyone familiar with this light or company?

I think 1 4 bulls, 4 foot T5 fixture would be okay for the nems. If you pile the rocks nicely they will probably move up towards it. I had a RBTA in my 55g with this type fixture but when I upgraded to the 75g it roamed into a PH. I am sure others who have nems now can give you better info.
I was going to say to scrap the sand. When I converted from a 55g to 75g I kept most of the sand. The 75 went through many mini cycles the 1st year and I believe its because of the sand. If I ever upgrade I will toss the old sand and buy new. Just my opinion. Good luck.
