The problem with Alk spikes is that they corals can go days and even weeks later. SPS is a finicky coral and alk spikes can be a killer, I know this from experience.

We have moved twice with tanks and it sucks, there is no way to sugar coat that at all. However, with planning it can be done pretty easily. Also, moving over the next few months would be great because it takes weather concerns out of it. I would wait to see if the grant comes through first...

Trop ACC, and AO all sell the Real Reef rock which is not pulled off the reef so it comes in a bunch of interesting shapes and sizes (think shelf and branch).

The new Flipper from coralvue is what we have been using recently and it is pretty awesome. Keeps you dry and the razor on it can get off most if not all the algae.

Skimmate lockers do have such a lovely smell when they fill.
