If it's a mini duster it looks like a big one just smaller. If it's a apitasia it looks more like a baby anemone. Apitasia is bad it will quickly spread all over your tank. Peppermint shrimp and butterflies eat these or you can inject them
I'm just thinking about getting one and have those same questions myself. I see the neptune controller has digital calibration. Does this mean you don't need the calibration solution? Maybe someone with experience can help us out......
Keep in mind if you don't have a chiller already your gonna need one with 3-250watt halide's over a 150. And that much light might be overkill. I had a 125 and kept what ever I wanted under 2 - 150's How deep and long is the tank?
I'd put it opposite the return and on a wave mode not constant speed. This way it will interrupt your existing current. You get some more flow patterns this way. If you put it on same side as your return your gonna have all your flow the same way. The flow more the merrier!
I used it and everything likes it. But with a large tank and a lot of hungry fish it's too expensive. I can get a large flat of mysis, large flat of brine with spirulina, and a small of plankton for the same price. I mix pieces of each of them and some small seaweed pieces prior to feeding and...
Ah a good salt makes a difference in a reef tank. Fish only I'd say use the IO. Reef tank..... spend the extra money on a better salt, it's not like this is a cheap hobby anyway. Compared to everything else we shouldn't worry so much about salt cost. Find it at your cheapest driveable store, and...
I vary between tropic pro and reef crystals. Like em both. Never any brown breakouts or high readings. Or you could get the free shirt if you go with coralife..... That was a joke don't use that!
I think it's a waste. If your water has electric current in it you have a problem. Better off checking your whole electrical system and finding the problem instead of masking it with a probe
