I have 20k radium 250watt Se bulbs running on icecap 250 electric ballasts.It's a little dim for me. 1/2" is plenty for that tank. My 300 was only 1/2" it was 8' x 2' x 30" high. Why acrylic though? Glass would be cheaper. Probably even with starphire. I would't use acrylic unless you were goin over 300gal

Absolutly fish has a great fish selection. Always stocked up and usually some more of the hard to find fish. You do pay for it though..... Very pricey

Go with a 1 1/2" coupling on your spa flex to a 1 1/2" to 1" reducer on the other side of the coupling. Connect the ball valve with normal 1" pvc pipe. This way you'll have the shortest run of hard pipe it's gonne be covered by the coupling and ball valve anyway

you can make a great mechanical filter in your overflow box. You have to mount some brackets on each side of it a few inches down. then put egg-crate across them. filterpad on top of that. To get water to flow through you need to drill the bottom and use a pump for a closed loop type of setup...

That's nice paintman! The bigger pvc 4" ? Acts as the bubble trap and holds the filter bags? That's a great idea! How much flow do you have going through your overflow's and into your sump? Do they all get filtered through the filter bags?

I was also looking at the MRC Ocean Force 300. Again this might be small though. How is the octopus extreme? Is it well built? How much power does it draw?
