Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
You should be all set then.
I needed to mount mine under the sink, so I needed the tap valve. I should have paid more attention to the fact that it wouldn't work on braided hose.
Good luck with yours. I shut mine off for now. I will run it again tomorrow, I didn't want to leave it run all night.
LOL Just make sure you have all your prep work done ahead of time so you can hook it up as soon as you get it! I had it on Sunday, but couldn't hook it up until today because of the stoopid braided hose on the cold water supply. I had to go get a PVC valve and splice it into the PVC part of the...
Ok, so I tested it again shortly after that last post, and it was actually up to 150 or so, so I think I messed up the last reading.
At any rate, it's only down to about 90 through the RO only. It's been running on waste since around 5pm. Is it safe to say I'm going to need to let this thing...
Ok, I see what you were saying. I tested the RO only and it is running at about 45 right now. I will let it drain until that gets to single digits.
Thanks!
Seriously, I wish my tank looked half as good as that. (although, I still must admit I like the look of sand. Can't get past the bare bottom thing...) Other than that, I love the arches, and the aquascaping.
Compared to that, mine looks like a glass box with a pile of purple rocks in it. ;D...
Yeah, they have a bypass valve on the top for RO only.
I turned off the drain and let the DI cartridge fill up, pulled some of the water and tested it, it was 1. Normal tap runs about 245 to 250 (both according to the hand held TDS meter that came with the unit).
Is it safe then to turn off...
Ok, got it hooked up today. I didn't feel like ripping out the old plumbing. I have a double sink with a dual drain, and a braided "y" at the top for the sink hose. Luckily, the PVC that comes up to the wierd 1970's pvc to braided valve was long enough that I just cut out a small piece and...
ILC is a club sponser. They were also VERY good to us recently on the Rock Group Buy.
The more business we can bring them, the more purchasing power they will have. That means better selection and better prices.
They are a bit of a drive for me, but there is literally NOTHING down where I'm...
I'm by far no expert, but I use these for squaring wood boxes for drawers, small box shelves, etc:

I imagine they would work for glass as well, just don't tork them down or you will crack the glass. I'd probably also line the contact surface on the clamp...
I'll definitely hit you up when I get closer to that piece of the puzzle.
Step 1, get the tank so I can start building the stand.
I bought myself some time with the current stand by rigging some 2x4 braces under each end to support the legs and keep it from swaying. Looks like hell, but it...
I can feel the fumble fingers comment! I've been told I could fall down standing still. As a matter of fact, I think its happened. My wife crynges every time she hears the table saw fire up!
That's why I had them "polish" the edgs, and I still cut myself. Go figure.
Rich is definitely the...
When I put my sump together the first time, I used acrylic baffels. They cost me about $12 to have cut down. When I fired up the water and the return pump, they bowed and didn't seem to hold very well. Could be because I used acrylic that was too thin, I don't know.
So, I called a local glass...
Merv and Mott, thanks for the offers. I would definitely love to stop by and see the setups. My schedule will be crazy for the next few weeks, but as it starts to slow down a bit, I will definitely look you both up for that.
Carlo, great info. That makes sense to me.
Ok, so is there a 250 watt...
Thanks guys. Definitely appreciate all the input.
At this point, I pulled the air silencer off all together. Like I said, I don't notice any increase in noise, but that's probably because my overflow gurgles like a drunken fat guy, I am running a mag 9.5 as my return pump (very very slight...
Got my shirts from Rich today. They look great! Of course, now I need more T-Shirts, my wife claimed one of mine already... I'll make a "reefer" outa her yet! LOL!
Either tank I go with is going to be 24" tall. So looks like 250's it is.
What bulbs are you running? I was thinking 10K with the T5 actinics.
Do you think I need all 4 of them with the 24" width? Or will 2 suffice?
I'm trying to avoid the cost of a chiller, do you have a heat issue?
