Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I've been running the #3 model for a few weeks now. I have to say, it has been impressive. No issues with it stay up with the magnet and suction cup combo. The water movement is good, the pump is quiet and fairly efficient.
I have a tunce nano-stream 6045 on the opposite side of the tank, and...
Do you recall any prices on the 120s?
Uh-oh, the dreaded "parent clause". LOL! I remember those days. Now I AM the dreaded parent clause! MUUAHAHAHAHAHAH! ;D
I know everyone is steering you away from the 55gallon (including me), but if you don't get the ok from da 'rents on the bigger tank, I...
I'm in the deep south. ;D Port Elizabeth to be exact. About 15 minutes south of Vineland, 45 minutes west of Atlantic City, 45 minutes north of WIldwood.
So any place is a drive for me, and I frequent Aquarium Center in Blackwood, so Marlton isn't much further. I think I'm going to check them...
TNT: Will do. I may do a price hunting trip on Sunday.
irradiatedreef: Good point. I do like the idea of the dual overflows.
And yes, anything is better than none, and alot is better than the 55 I have now! ;D
I didn't even realize Discount pet was still in business. I haven't been there in quite a few years. I will definitely check out Ed's prices too.
All depends on the availability of a certain *cough* *cough* 90 gallon (that is if saltwater4life doesn't want it, I don't wanna steal his deal ;D )
Nice, I hope so. I tend not to trust the weather guessers though. I read a statistic somewhere that said collectively "weather guessers" across the nation are right less than 7% of the time. Sheesh! If I had a 7% accuracy in my job, I'd be fired! LOL! ;D
I'm sure Aquarium Center could get me what I wanted in pretty short order. Unfortunately, that is still the closest place that can order anything for me, regardless of brand. Sometimes it sucks living down here! LOL! Maybe I'll just open my own place. Lord knows I have the retail business...
Wow, I would love to get in on this, but I'm definitely not a diver! You guys/gals will have to let me know what you plan on bringing in. Maybe I can show up and be a dedicated grill/lunch server or something! LOL! ;D
Thanks for the link. I did find that many of their dealers are out of business in my area. The closest is Aquarium Center in Blackwood, but I think they have to order that. I was in there not long ago, and don't recall seeing that particular size and setup in stock.
Anyone know the average...
Does anyone know where I could even get a 120 local to southern NJ?
Right now I have 65 pounds of LR just about done curing (thanks to the Group Buy) and about 40 pounds in the tank right now. So I would definitely have enough for the 90. Plus, my skimmer will probably still handle the 90. I'm...
Take it from someone with a 55gallon, the width is a definite negative. The only reason I even went that route was that I already had the tank and stand.
I'm now researching my upgrade as well. Either 75 or 90. I've also considered the 120. And unfortunately, sooner than I had anticipated. My...
Hey Jazz, quite frankly, I didn't want to take the chance with silicone. Lowes has a tube of silicone that specifically says "Aquarium Silicone" on it for around $3.00. When you are talking about pennies in price difference, why take the chance? That's what I used.
Oh, and when you call the...
I made a sump out of a 20 gallon long. I called a local glass shop and they cut the baffels for me to size out of glass for about 12 bucks while I waited.
I tried acrylic first, but it bowed and flexed under the water pressure too much.
Give a glass shop a call and see what you can get.
Hey Mynd. Medical wrap tape is probably the way to go. You can get it in black about 2" width, and water proof for hydro-therapy.
This is a bit expensive, but it gives you an idea.

Everyone has their own preference. I have just used the AQs for so long, I don't see a need to change the way I do it. As a matter of fact, I have been using a couple of my AQs so long that I can remember when the "ammonia remover" media bag was NEW! LOL! You know, if it aint broke, don't...
