Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Make sure you sign up for the petperks card and include your email address if you haven't already. We, ahem, I mean they do ALOT of targeted marketing with coupons and discount events based on your category purchase trends. And probably about 80% of the discount marketing is done via email...
LOL Yeah, definitely sounds like it. Nothing beats hands on instruction either!
*sigh* Maybe the next south meeting I will be able to swing. Saturdays are tougher than Sundays.
Thanks Steve. Been fiddling with my live rock this afternoon, but I plan on playing with the camera some more this evening.
I hear that you have the sigma macro lens. How do you like it? I've used Tamron and sigma lenses before on my canons, but never a macro.
There's a camera consignment/used...
Sometimes. Depends on what I'm doing. Never really had the need to do anything macro before. This is a first. Usually I have a pretty small number of settings I use if I'm doing portrait work. (which I am by no means an expert at either, I get lucky alot). Generally with portrait work...
A little better. Definitely a huge color difference between my two monitors. Looks like its time to recalibrate. (I run 2 different monitors on my main system)
Ok, so I've been a photobug for years, but never had the need for macro photography.... That is, until now.
Someone talk to me about a macro lens for the Nikon D70. I thinking middle of the pack here. I don't want a waste of money, but I don't necessarily want to spend my kids' college tuition...
Thanks guys. Given the rapid response there, I will skip that option and just keep up with the water changes.
Not sure I'm willing to put $110 into a skimmer for a 10 gallon, but the stuff over at sapphire aquatics was interesting.

Looks almost worth a try for that price. But then, you get what you pay for I suppose. Any thoughts?
There ya go! Now I just gotta get this retail manager occupation thing worked out to wrangle a weekend off... :(
Still trying to wiggle out of Feb 24th to get to the Cherry Hill meeting, but I doubt strongly that's going to happen...

If I can ever get my camera back from my father and actually MAKE it to a meeting, I have some portable lighting and backdrop equipment, I could do some portrait shots. Nothing spectacular, just some inexpensive light stands etc. Could be interesting.
Feeling kinda blue because I don't have my good rig right now, so, if it doesn't offend the mods, I thought I'd post some shots of a wedding I did back in August.

I think my DIY 29 gallon stand is in there somewhere too...
Shhhhhhhh! Don't tell the tang police!
This is my Scopas that I "rescued" from Petco in Deptford. He is already coloring up, you can't see his spine anymore, and the nick in his dorsal fin (which the person at Petco told me was "nothing at all, been there since he came in a month ago and...
