If your MH are 10k or 12k you can run some actinic bulbs or KZ figi pinks to really bring out some color. I would not use them for moonlights as Sonny said but you can get LEDs for moonlights.
What kind of bulbs do you have now in the MHs? If you have 20ks you probably don't need blue bulbs. If you want moonlights go for the icecap leds, they are perfect for monnlights.
For those of you not looking for a digital, we have the glass thermometers that sit on the sand bed. That way you don't have to worry about them floating and getting smashed.
When I first setup my nano I had the rocks close to the walls and it was a pain to clean. When the tanks crashed we reaquascaped to allow room around the rocks to clean. The only wall I don't really worry about it the back wall. With a nano it is tougher due to the size limits and requires a lot...
It is a common strategy to move the live rock around when introducing a new fish if you have an aggressive fish in that tank. Once a fish has its territory, it can defend it aggressively, by moving the rock you are starting over with territory.
As Hawk said keep an eye on the blue hippo, they...
You don't have any main filter feeders (clams, gorgonians, etc.) so you don't need a hefty dose of phyto. The corals you have are not real sticklers for water quality or additives. You don't really need to feed any of them except for the torch which is just once in a while. If the tank looks...
We are looking foward to having the tank back to normal this weekend. We have everything rearranged in the tank to make it easier to inspect the SPS and the rest of the tank. You realize how important a clean up crew is when you don't have one. The amount of junk that settles on the sand is...
This hobby is as expensive as you want it to be. NikkiT ran tanks for years with a HOB filter and CF lights. No corals just fish and inverts and it was incredibly cheap. I have seen some amazing softie tanks setup the same way. If you want to go bigger, it is going to cost a lot more.
Fish and...
For flatworms, there is flatworm exit which you can nuke your tank with if you have them. Fresh water dips can stun them, then hit them with a powerhead/turkey baster just be carefull. Revive also does a pretty good job with knocking them off. Flatworms are not very strong and can be blown off...
