Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We also have a 20g high, and are quite amazed at what it can do. What sort of hardware do you have on that system? We are looking to upgrade and are looking for some suggestions.
The ice idea is for our 30 as well. We have MH on there and it is already starting to run a little hot in the apartment. I have the JBJ 12 gallon and with the hood i really don't have to deal with that much evaporation issues, and salinity is balanced out with weekly water changes.
You can go out and buy a complete auto top off unit and get the pumps and sump. I believe that might be a bit overkill for a 12g tank. If you have good knowledge of pumps and plumbing you might be able to rig something, I personally have none of that. You can also look for a Kent doser which is...
If you are hooked now, just wait until you play the multi-player. Not only is it really really fun, but of course there are challenges and levels to achieve that will keep you coming back for more.
I have not played single player in over a year, so sorry I cannot help you on that front.
You may want to get some garlic, apparently it helps out with the slime coat on your fish. We had ich in our 20g, quarantined everything and still lost fish. We used some stuff that did not work at all. The only thing that cured our fish was copper which is like using a sledgehammer but can get...
I am about to change my 250w bulb as well. It seems that the IceCap 14k is the most popular. Has anyone used the Geismann 12.5k or 14.5k? Those were the two bulbs I was looking at.
The fiancee neglected to mention that plenty of species are protected; if you try and ship them to the US or bring them in yourself, without a permit, you could end up being fined, or worse, if the species is protected abroad, in jail in your vacation destination. If the species you are...
Thanks Diverrk. I was asking because I have a very, very small piece of rock, about 1" x1" with seven watermelon mushrooms on it. A few of the watermelon mushrooms that were on the rock (at one point it had 9) detached themselves and re-attached to other piece of live rock in my tank, but I have...
Nobody like a naysayer, but I think you should wait. I have stressed fish moving a 10 gallon, I could never imagine moving a 210g. Unless you can get 20 of your fellow reefers responsible for just moving 11g a piece I think you could do it. ;)
We started the brine culture for our mandarin but really don't feed it to all the fish, and once the mandarin is on frozen or we have enough pods we will probably retire the culture. We have reef nutrition phyto for our clam and we also use their artic pods which are nice. We have also used...
We don't feed the brine anything and feed them to the fish when they are small. Brine shrimp are like popcorn, fish love to eat it but they have almost no nutrional value. When they are smaller, they will have more nutrional value, so that is the best time to use them as food. We also add...
I know this is a very old thread, how are the mushrooms doing now? I have some I would like to remove from their current rock, but I don't want to kill them.
thanks.
I have had a teenie (.5 inch) fighting conch in my 20g for about 3 months, and he is doing very well. I also have the 1" fighting conch my fiancee had in the 12g before we set up the 30g in the 30; we used a live sand bed and let the tank cycle for about a month to allow algae to build up for...
We have not tried to raise the larvae ourselves becuase while pepermint shrimp are considered by some to be relatively easy to raise, cleaner shrimp larvae are not so simple. they need to be fed rotifers and newly hatched brine shrimp intially from what I've read, which both need to be fed...
My fiancee and I have talked about this before. You have to check with the country for their import/export provisions. Some countries won't let you send livestock out of the country. If they do, you probably have to look into a permit of some sort to even collect the livestock. Shipping is...
