    Finally

The one problem with this premise is that you never nail it. There are times you think you’ve nail it, and while you’re sitting back basking in the glory of a marvelous tank, it sneaks up and hits you. You don’t see it coming. It can’t even be defined. But it is there lurking in the...

    Oceanic Tank Question(s)

I have the 1500 gph Glass-Holes as well. With this one you have two, 1 ½ lines coming out the back of the overflow (and through your glass). The 700 only has one 1 1/2” line coming out the back. Here’s the back of my tank where you can see the two fat pipes for the overflow. The ¾ pipe...

    Oceanic Tank Question(s)

Glass-holes overflow……700 gph should do it. Kit comes with everything, including the drill bit. HERE’s how you tell if the glass is tempered. You cannot drill tempered glass.

    Well that didn't last long..

+1 for the Reefbreeder LED's. These are not the Chinese fixtures of old. They have been great improvements in them.....gigantic aluminum heat sink, dual fan control that match the intensity of light, bridgelux leds, full spectrum (has the violet/red/green LEDs), optics.....all good stuff...

    Beginner 2 part dosing question

I just did a re-read of these posts and realize you have a 4 inch clam. Your ALK and CALC demand are going to be considerable more than just having a couple corals. Clams really suck that stuff up. So you definitely want to do daily testing until you figure out the ALK and CALC demand...

    Beginner 2 part dosing question

3 ounces seems like a ton.....although you said you diluted it. What was your dilution. I personally believe in slowly creeping up your numbers, instead of “ripping” them up to some dKh. If it was “normal” B-Ionic concentration, I would be looking at something between 5 – 10 mls per...

    Beginner 2 part dosing question

You want to add the ALK part......sodium carbonate (or potentially sodium bicarbonate). The other part, CALC, is calcium chloride. EDIT TO ADD: Yes, you only want to dose Alkalinity (I think Part 1 or A is what B-Ionic calls it). Continue to test frequently to hopefully see Calc drop...

    DIY Nano Cube Stand

Someone on another board asked the question on how I was going to fit the MP10 controller through that small hole. I can’t remember who (maybe Fish Brain), told me about MP40’s, and how you could simply open up the controller and unplug the wires so that you could pass them through a hole...

    Caught fish

I don’t know the size of the fish, or size of your overflow, but I do have two small nets, it that will help.

    DIY Nano Cube Stand

George, thanks for the offer, but I have plenty of jugs. I’m currently using OceanSpray gallon juice jugs for the pumps on my big tank. I also store my alk and calc in these same jugs. When I originally started dosing, the intent was to simply switch out a jug when it got low. However...

    DIY Nano Cube Stand

I was able to pick up two BRS dosing pumps (thanks Olivier), and install them on a bracket in the front of the stand. In addition, because of the ATO and dosing pumps, I needed to make room in the ReefKeeper PC8, so for any piece of equipment that simply needed to be plugged in, I added a...
