I have one and it is no problem with other fish, snails, shrimp, or SPS. Mine has picked at just about everthing else in the tank but didn't harm anything(Clams, softies, and LPS).

There is at least one brand of seaweed with the garlic built right in. Tangs for sure need some vegi matter in their diet.

I would make sure you feed them some seaweed with garlic. I cannot tell but he should go for that.

The fish that malulu gave you pics of are great fish. Watchman may not be good choice as you suggest ...firefish don't occupy the same space generally so should be fine. Smaller dwarf angels should be fine. They are super active and are generally reef safe...though they pick at everything in...

Krill is something that I always fed mine. Mine is in the back far corner so getting to it is not so easy but the krill are simple.

Flexible hose works, I have a ball valve no problems. But that said why not just get some flexible PVC and clean up that return with one shot up to the bulkhead? Simple is better right.

The BTA may move up to the top of a rock closer to the lights. I don't think it is optimal but again with good bulbs it isn't that bad. It is not going to be a super problem overnight you might not get great growth but you can make it up by feeding it.

Yep what you have and if you add a skimmer/fuge you will be pretty good. Sooner or later you will need to move the hippo but for now your good. Glad things are working out.
