Good job glad you figured it out. Your fish and corals will appreciate the more gradual lighting and continuity.

They do hide as they are pretty skittish.....look around your tank. I really love the fish but one mistake allowed per fish IMHO. I really like our open tank so no jumpers for me.

Mine went carpet surfing ... pretty crispy by the time I found him. All fish can jump those do tend to jump more ... a risk. If you can keep him calm then should be OK but you have a few semi agressive fish so my suggestion is to cover it up if you can.

Try to close the hole in the top of the durso....I have always had a bit of trouble with air in my lines too. You don't have any loops so that shouldn't be a problem. Strange that it got worse unless you released a lot of organic matter that is foaming like in the ocean?

I am a big fan of the Koralia powerheads. Reasonable price, high dispersed flow, low power usage, magnetic mounts and for me they have always been quiet and dependable. I have one K2 in my QT and 2 K4 in my 120. Also have the returns and two MJ900 on wavemaker in DT.

Your light should be pretty good...the corals that need more light can go up higher as you said. I don't exactly understand what you mean about your light cycle. Your lights don't go off for two hour right...do you mean the different type of bulbs? Leathers are nice...Candi is selling very nice...

What have you gotten him to eat? Will he take anything frozen?

I was scared of putting mine in the washer too...but with the frozen hose outside in they went. I run it through 3 times with no soap and then overnight in a small pitcher with water conditioner, then I do my best to get all water out again before putting them in the sump. OH and I turn them...

I am with you that is one of my favorite fishes. I do think the question of what sort of tank are you going to run is legit....this heading is under Fish OR FOWLER. I asked the same question about tangs here but have corals. I also love these questions because there is no right or wrong.
