Trop will test your water for you. They have salt and RO water up front. I used to use one for top off and the other for water change. They also sell refractometers I think I paid about 50 bucks for mine there. Pretty good quality.

Yes going forward use the drip method for everything...there are a lot more parameters to consider with salt water that fresh water fish can handle better. I even do a drip method for freshwater now though.

The tank is a 4x2 tank same as yours. I am looking at buying the fish at Will's anniversary sale...for sure not full grown. Of course what he has in stock that day may determine what goes into the tank to some degree. I sort of assume he will be stocking up a bit for the day(hoping and praying...

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input. In the white flexible pipes leading from the tank to the sump air is getting drawn though so I am getting air coming out into the sump.

I want to bump this up as I have my other tank up and running...I have a thread in TOT...hope it adds some extra piece to the puzzle....also I plan on using my old 24 G AP as QT tank going forward...will this be OK for tangs? Thanks James

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input. I was running it at 25 on my AP. I errored on the low side to be honest with you, I had never made my own water and some of the water I had in my tubs was lower then what I am running now so I didn't want to shock everthing by changing sality too...

The water is good..but you should be doing water changes every week...say 10-20%. Plus as your water evaporates you need to add water without salt...if you add salt water your water will get higher and higher concentrations of salt.
