    Welcome machct! Most corals are in a symbiotic relationship with algae that helps in “feeding” the corals.  So if you have corals, you need relatively strong lights…metal halide, T5s, compact fluorescents.  If you have fish only, then you can get away with a simple fluorescent light fixture.

    Well let me figure this out. I’m an oldtimer and we had formulas back in the day. If I remember correctly, that is one inch of fish for each gallon of water. So an eight foot fish (12in/ft x 8ft = 96 inches), would fit in a 96 gallon tank. I’ve got a 125 gallon…..I think I’ll buy this fish...
