RA has a Jebao/Speedwave cable that allows you to control their pumps with an RA controller. This has been around since March of 2013 by the way.

You will notice they also have a battery backup attachment (similar to what VorTech has - but works off of solar power) to keep your Jebao / Speedwave DC pumps working during a power outage. The battery isn't really strong enough to run the return pumps for more than a few minutes though. It's designed to work with the powerheads. The battery charger can also be converted to electric charging too, but that currently requires some DIY modding.

Reef Angel also came out with an "RF module" which acts as a wireless "master" that can control the VorTech pumps and Radion LED's. This came out way before VorTech even had them available themselves, and is much cheaper to boot.

Innovative things like this are why I am so happy I chose a Reef Angel.
