what do you use ive tried Ecotech Marine Coral Glue and brs glue. neither hold very good . i have even tryed to glue a plug onto rock .It would stay for a few days and then fall!!!

I use IC gel. Love it the tubes never thicken like the jars of the other brands.

Though with all glues, as soon as the hit the water a skin will form if you press it to a rock that skunk needs to be broken or it won't stick. What I do is use a small ball of epoxy putty with a touch of glue on it. I then glue the frag to that and press the whole think into the spot I want it. Never fails for me. Added benefit is that the whole thing easily removes if needed.

I use the Eco tech Marine stuff right now(I won a bottle. Too expensive for me) but what I do is glue the plug, coral, disc etc, then I rub the glue to the surface so that bubble John is referring to, breaks, then I hold it in place for a min or so and it usually holds for me. Gets harder the longer is sticks

If you are going to use a ton at once the ecotech is the way to go. It is the best glue however it hardens in the bottle and becomes useless if you let it sit around too long. We use ic gel and have been using it for years. Seems like a good middle ground.

I usually use the ecotech glue. If you keep the top capped and store it in the refrigerator it lasts much longer in my experience.

I was about to post the exact same thing about EcoTech glue. I would guess the same is true for just about any gel type glue.

As for getting it to stick...
If you're glueing to a plug/ disc:
1. Apply adequate ball to plug/disc then press coral onto glue.
2. Hold coral steady for a few seconds, then give it a quick dip in the tank. - water activates the bond.
3. Keep out of water while you hold coral in place until bond is good.

If you're glueing coral right to rock inside the tank:
1. Make a small mound of reef safe epoxy and hollow out a hole to fit coral base into.
2. Apply adequate ball of glue into the hole and insert coral into glue.
3. Dip in water as above.
4. When coral is secure in epoxy, apply generous amount of glue to bottom, then press the epoxy base (with coral attached) onto the rock where you want it.
5. Mold the epoxy into cracks, to make it mesh into rock.

That should hold.
