Hair Algae creeping up again

Two and half weeks ago I stopped running the phosphate reactor as the media needed to be replaced. Finally this weekend I was able to replace the GFO and get it running again. Also, around this time I increased the time the tank lights stay on due to family complaints. I now timed the lights to be less. During this two week period I noticed a small out break of HA and I plan to scrub the few rocks and put them back, like I said its not much yet. I was thinking of adding a Tomini tang to help control these small out breaks. Good / bad idea? I plan to do a water change this week as well.

Stigmata blenny, mine can't get enough hair algae and I am not happy to say he won't be going hungry in my tank right now.

Sea hare will b your safest bet for something that will eat it. None of my tangs ( tomini, naso, yellow, ) will go near hair. I even starved them a bit , they still wont touch it. Lawnmower blenny takes bites here n there but not enough to control it. Fish are hit or miss for it. Fish that will eat it will vary with the individual.

Get yourself some Mexican Turbo snails, if it's not Bryopsis, they'll clean it off in no time. Take whatever measures to prevent/ minimize it.

I scrubbed the rocks and threw a small one out. Unfortunately, while scraping the overflow the HA went down and under a big rock in which I cannot remove.
Like I said it was much or very long and just want something to keep it in check so it won't get out of hand.
Was thinking maybe 2 FW mollies and switch them to SW.

I have 4 mollies and I may be looking to re-home 2 if you're interested. They're in my QT now in hypo. End of Oct they'll be good to go. 8-10+ weeks clean.

I appreciate the offer; just hope no HA until then. Where are you located by the way?

I really appreciate the offer but Philly is kind of far for me to get some mollies.

understandable... - of course they're already converted to SW... isn't that enough to entice you to spend close to $20 bucks in gas for a pair of $2 fish?
Anyway, they'll be in my sump in a couple weeks so if you change your mind or if there's someone near me heading up for a meeting - the offer's open until they're gone. good luck with the HA

I agree with nick...sea hare will get alot of it, but manual removal by you makes quite a dent.

Work on your water parameters and it will stay away...
