Joe's Stupid Simple 40 Breeder!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Joe and I have been into the hobby for about six years now. I had to sell everything I had off a few years back while I was in college. I just bought a house and I am happy to be back! This current tank has been setup for around 8 months and is running great. I travel for work so my objective was to keep this tank really simple so my wife did not complain about keeping an eye on it. Below is a few details about the system:

• 40 breeder
• K2 and K3 power heads
• Tunze 9004
• ATO w/ kalk and vinegar
• 55 lbs of live rock
• shallow sand bed

Let me know what you think, I am looking forward to meeting you guys and I am going to try to make it to the April meeting.

Nice pics! Any other equipment? What lights are you running?

The only other equipment is a ehiem jager heater. The lighting is a Current Sundial 4 x 39 T5 light that I retro fitted TEK reflectors into. The bulbs are 2 ati blue plus,
1 coral plus, and 1 purple plus. Wanted to keep this tank simple since I travel, even if the skimmer overflows it just overflows into the tank.

I have the 48" verson of that Current light. I love the built in timers.

It is a great fixture, but it was a big improvement when I put Aquactinics individual reflectors in it (thought they were TeK, had to check).
