Thanks all, I’m very excited to start this next adventure. Vlad do you think i should dial back the rock??? I kept going back and forth, there are tons of caves and shelves but the 18” depth is a bit challenging so not maybe quite as much front on space but have some good front swim lanes for the really active fish.
I think it looks good. As far as to much rock that’s up to you. If you like it that’s all that matters. My favorite thing is watching the fish swimming through the rock work. I’d leave it just like it is. You’ll need a good bit of flow in the tank though.
Thanks all, I was debating on removing the top layer of rock but I then started making more coves and ledges to Curt’s point just a lot more spots for fish to dive in and out and hang out, so I think I’m kinda digging it. I ordered 100lbs but think the brs guys were extra generous. So flows gonna be key I guess. There are 3 return pumps with split returns and then I can add the splits to those so think I can get good movement from return pumps. Then it’s how many wave makers to go with, advice pls? I got 2 Ai orbits (a 2 and a 4) and 2 Nero 3‘s but I’m not loving the look of the orbits on the ends and thinking maybe a Nero 5 or 7 combo on the ends going end to end and then 3’s mid way? Too much, not enough? Tank is 70” long, 18” deep, 16” tall.
