Opinions on Zoos and Mushrooms

I am looking for opinions on how to separate zoos and mushrooms from this rock pictured. The zoos are in a crevice and are being smothered by the shrooms. I bought this rock because of the zoos and wasn't really interested in the shrooms and of course that is what is growing wild on the rock. I was going to take a pair of dykes to the mushrooms but I thought I would get some advice before I did anything *rash*. I figured the shrooms would live if I cut the rock beneath them with the dykes and relocated them. Any thoughts?

I forgot the pic!

P.S. pay no mind to the bubble algae I have been at war with....

That will work just fine make sure you cut the rock under the shroom and don't leave any pieces of the shroom or they will just grow right back again...

Ok so it sounds like I am not *completely* out of my mind. Good deal. On a different note... WhAt kind of zoos do you think these are?

Zoas look like eagle eyes.

If you can borrow an aipstaisa zapper, they are really good at killing mushrooms as well. Don't buy one as they are a bit over priced, but they will work for mushrooms.

While Paul is usually our resident comedian and I'm sure he meant no harm in his joke, this is a family friendly forum (say that 3 times fast!) and it was a bit out of line so it was removed.

To be complete in eliminating it, I also removed and/or edited any post in the thread that gave light to the subject.

On a side note, my suggestion to the OP would be to use a scalpel to try to remove the zoas instead of removing the mushrooms. Then just mount the zoas to a different rock or plug. The zoas will grow with a connecting membrane and once you start peeling one or two off, the rest will come off easier and the entire bunch will have a nice flat base. You could either glue it to a rock/plug or use some rubber bands to hold it down and let the zoas attach to it themselves.

Oh, and it appears you have a nice bunch of bubble algae on your sand. You may want to get yourself an emerald crab or two to take care of that. ;)

Yes. Emerald crab or two. The bubble so far has been the bane of my existence

Unfortunately the zoos are down in a crevice so the wont easily come off the rock and I would rather risk the shrooms than the zoas.
