Lost my first SW fish today. He was a Tomini bristletooth tang that I "rescued" a couple months back. He was QT'd in hypo for a month then transitioned for a month and has been in my DT since. Over the weekend I noticed what looked like a wound but it seemed better by yesterday and it was fine this morning. Well when I came home from work my wife called me in to see what she thought was a dead snail being feasted on by the CUC. Needless to say whatever she saw was long gone by the time I looked. What she described as a snail out of it's shell draped over a rock seemed too large to actually be a snail. Then went in the food and Tom was no where to be found. The cruel harsh reality of life on the reef - no remains to give a proper burial. At least my FW days there was a floater I could give a proper send off. Rest in peace new friend.
