Shelf for Rubbermaid stock tank

I would like to make a shelf in my sump. I currently have a shelf made of pine screwed to the top rim of the sump to hold my skimmer and anything else I need. I am thinking about making a shelf inside the sump to hold the skimmer lower and possibly hold a small fuge just above or at the waterline. Thinking about materials that would be strong enough to use I originally came up with composite lumber, but afraid to leech things into the water. Other suggestions were glass or granite cutoffs. I was thinking 2 marble saddles would do the trick. What do you think? What do you use in your sumps?

cut PVC for legs and use a cutting board for the shelf

This would be the best idea IMO, but you can also just use egg crate for the shelf. The holes in it make it easy to tie-strap right to holes drilled into the pvc pipe.

I would use at least 3 legs, but 4 would be better, especially if you are going to hold heavy stuff like a fuge.

Nickjr had a pretty good idea too. Those plastic milk crates could be a no-hassle solution if they are the right height.

make an acrylic one that sits down in the water like a divider and just pump in the flow you need into it. That would be neat.
