Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Diana, that is one reason I get up about 5:00 every morning. I go on my walk then come back and start building something or just
designing. The designing takes far more time than building.

I keep pencils around and in my car for when an inspiration hits me so I can draw it. If Dale is cooking or on the phone and doesn't need me right away, I am in my Man cave "working" on something. Our house is full of drawers and compartments that automatically appear out of walls and disappear. Some of our upper cabinets come out and automatically and come down so they are reachable.

Our living room is full of my projects like this fireplace and table from a wooden slab. That fireplace and the entire structure is on rollers so I can pull it out
(not very easy) to paint and that wood slab table has lights under it that I can change color.

I would build something every day but we have no more room for my creations. I sold many of them but I feel bad when I do as I like them all.

This root washed up on the back of my Daughters house on the Hudson River. I couldn't resist and had to build a table out of it.

I also built all my Christmas decorations as I don't like Chinese plastic things.

I built this bedroom wall out of wood I found in a dumpster. I also built the bed which looks like a 6" wood slab with 12" wheels on it.

My problem is that I have too many hobbies and don't have the time for all of them. Here are some of my old pieces that sold. I sold 40 of them.

Of course I also like to cook and bake, which Dale appreciates

We are invited out tonight for dinner, but I want to make Manhattan Clam Chowder tomorrow night. I went to the supermarket for the Chowder stuff, and I forgot that we are supposed to get a huge snowstorm tomorrow into Monday with maybe 50MPH winds. It's a Nor'easter, and they predict 10 to 18" of snow.

Snow doesn't concern me at all, but apparently it scares many people. I got to the supermarket (where the Supermodels shop) and couldn't find a parking place. I parked so far away that I almost had to get an Uber to get to the place.

I finally get a spot and went in. There are no shopping carts. I have never seen this before. Not one except one that the wheels didn't turn.

My wife gave me a list, and I started to shop. They were almost out of plastic bags, so if you want apples, you have to throw them in the cart, or I assume your pockets.

I wonder how crowded it would be if they predicted a meteor strike like what killed the dinosaurs.

I never understood the mentality of people with snow and having to buy bread and milk. This is especially true in our area of the country where snow covered roads are typically cleared within 12 to 24 hours. I'll guarentee that if I were to go to our local grocery store, the milk and bread isles would be devastated. One of my favorite youtube's is Vic D.

I love clams...no matter how it's done! I use to eat oyster on the half when I was in my 20's and 30's. I don't any more.

I experienced the same thing at the grocery store today. These youngsters' never seen a snow storm before. Remember back in the 80's and 90's the way it snowed! You were expected at work on time when there was 2 feet of snow. I normally would take the first train to NYC at 5:50 AM so I could be at work by 7:30 AM. I remember having to walk to the train station during a snow storm. A normal 10 minute car drive to the train station, took me 1 hour walk in the snow back then. Kids now would just shrug their shoulders, and say there is no way to get there.

I ran to Aldi's to pickup few minor items. The bread isle was completely empty as well as the vegetables and fruits. I had to buy cherry tomatoes for my salad and hate them.

I had a big scare last night that almost gave me a heart attack. I was taking a shower, and I heard Dale scream louder than I have ever heard her scream.

I thought someone was killing her. I ran in there and she was in so much pain that she couldn't stand, breathe or move her mouth. I didn't know what to do. That horrible pain left her a few days ago and we hoped it would stay away at least for a few months.

I don't know what brought it on but we are waiting for a big blizzard today so maybe the drop in atmospheric pressure caused it. She said it was the worst she ever felt like the first time she got it years ago when I had to call an ambulance.

I quickly got her a pill that is for this pain but it takes hours to work, and it rarely works once you already have the pain.
I was going to call an ambulance but the pain started to abate. Now, Thank God, it's gone.

She was fine all day yesterday, this is so scary.

Today, barring any medical issues I am going to get my generator rolled out and ready to go. We are expecting maybe 2' of snow.
I have 20 gallons of gas for my generator which should get me through a couple of days as I don't run it continuously. Only about 15 minutes an hour to keep the heat on.

Diana, in the 70s I made so much money plowing snow that I didn't know what to do with it. After this snowstorm in I think 1974, my wife and I went to Bermuda just on that one days plowing. Remember, there was no 4 wheel drives then unless you had a military Jeep as I had or an International truck so I cleaned up.

Good Morning. 25 degrees and can't tell how much snow we have so far because I can't open my front door to get out. It looks like about 18" but there are huge drifts because it is very windy.

My lights blinked a couple of times and I hope the power stays on. It would take a lot of shoveling just to get to my generator and being it is in my garage, I would have to dig out a spot to put it outside.

My snow shovel is outside and covered in 2' of snow.
My biggest concern is that my wife stays pain free, especially today.

I'm not going to the beach today.

Stay save people.

I have 15 inches of snow now and still snowing. Expecting 5 more for total of 20 inches. No generator or snow blower. Will shovel by hand but hopefully HOA will send Bobcats.

There s a bob cat outside now. Not the cat one, the bulldozer one. :eek2: Here on Long Island it is still coming down. I hope it keeps up.

I made it to my garage which is below my Condo and where my man Cave and fish are.

The fish have no idea whats going on outside and don't seem to care. They just want to eat.

This shovel is about 18" high.

Last night I made Manhattan Chowder. Here it is before I finished filling the pot and cooked it. We had a couple come over for dinner. Luckily, I have enough left for tonight's dinner because I doubt, we will go out.
